There are currently no positions available at the Sunset Theatre, however during the summer we hire Stage Managers and Administrative Assistants to help wit the general running of the theatre. If you are a committed theatre student or Arts Admin student this could be the ideal opportunity for you to stretch your wings and exercise your knowledge.
Both positions pay minimum wage ($10.25 per hour in BC for a 40 hour week.) Hours are flexible. Ideal candidates will be committed self starters, able to live in a remote area. Accommodation may be available with a monthly rental however, accommodation during the summer can be challenging as this is a tourist town with limited inventory so shared accommodation may also be necessary.
Employees will be required to work in concession and box office from time to time when necessary, help with rentals, Arts Wells Festival etc. Must be friendly.

The Sunset Theatre is looking for a Stage Manager/Production Assistant to help fulfill the duties as around the theatre. They include organizing the load in and strike of each touring production for the summer, rentals, ad hoc programming and assist with any rehearsals, prop and costume maintenance, makeup, lighting, sound, library and artist liaison as well as “other duties as required.” Occasional Front of House and Concession Duties may be required on an ad hoc basis. Reporting to and working closely with the Technical Director of the Theatre, Dave Jeffery. This position is an ideal opportunity for a theatre student wanting to further their career in the professional theatre. The position will cover hands on experience with lighting, sound, set design and construction, artist liaison, and much more.
The Ideal Candidate will have...
A sincere desire to pursue a career in the professional theatre. High School or Post high School experience at a theatre school or theatre company. Must be willing to live in a small remote mountain town in the Cariboo with little access to urban amenities for extended periods of time. The ability to mix and mingle and build relationships the with local population and tourists. Must be returning to school in the fall.
