August 29, 30 and 31 at 8 p.m. and August 31 at 3:30 p.m. Directed by Nathan Pronyshyn Deep below the streets of Paris are the Catacombs, a maze of tunnels containing the remains of millions of people. Two backpackers get more than they bargained for when they venture into this world and cross paths with the Catacombs Police and the sinister group, La Mexicaine de Perforation. Aaron Coates (Actor/Creator) is an actor, playwright and director. He studied acting at Mount Rooyal College and at Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris. Acting credits include: Man Out of Joint (Downstage), Molière (Alberta Theatre Projects), Much Ado About Nothing and Good (Theatre Junction), The Comedy of Errors and Richard III (Shakespeare in the Park). His plays include: The Frozen Limit, The Pants Pratfall, The End of the Rope (shortlisted for the 2002 Writers Guild of Alberta Award for Drama). Directing credits include: Iraq & Back (Ghost River Theatre), Re:Generation (THEATREboom), Refuge, Little Malcolm (Dark Forest Theatre Company), The End of the Rope (DFTC/Vertigo Theatre). Aaron was the Artistic Director of the Dark Forest Theatre Company from 2002-2006. He was selected as the Emerging Director for Lunchbox Theatre’s 2007/08 season. Cheryl Hutton (Actor/Creator) trained as an actor at Mount Royal College in Calgary, the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in New York, and with Philippe Gaulier in Paris. Selected credits include: A Christmas Carol, Counsellor-at-Law, Death of a Salesman (Theatre Calgary); Refuge, Little Malcolm, The Pants, The Golden Fleece (Dark Forest Theatre Company); Sherlock’s Veiled Secret (Pleiades Theatre); Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, Rumplestiltskin (Shakespeare in the Park); Penelope vs. The Aliens!, The Big League (Quest Theatre). Cheryl works as an Artist in Residence with Quest Theatre, and is an ensemble member of Shadow Productions. She was a co-founder and ensemble member of Dark Forest Theatre Company from 2002-2006. Rew Lowe (Actor/Creator) has acted, directed and taught throughout the UK, as well as in Spain, Australia and France. A founding member of Anima Productions, he has designed for Frankly Productions and worked with the Kensington Drama Company and the award-winning Off-Key Theatre. Directing credits include The Popular Mechanicals (Robinson Theatre, Cambridge, UK, 2005) and Bakkhai – A Re-Invention of Euripides’ ‘The Bacchae’ (The Barn, York, 1999). He has also performed with the Stables Theatre Company and the York-Ghana Arts Link. he trained at the Ecole Philippe Gaulier, Paris, 2006-2007. Rew is an ensemble member of Aitherios Theatre and performed in their touring production of The Fish is Open in the summer of 2007. Nathan Pronyshyn (Director/Creator) trained at Mount Royal College and the University of Calgary. He is an actor, director and instructor. Selected acting credits include: A Christmas Carol (Theatre Calgary, 2004-07); Everyday Above Ground (Sabooge Theatre Monteral); Refuge (Dark Forest Theatre Company); Amadeus (Alberta Theatre Projects); Mystery of Greenfingers (Vertigo Theatre); The Big League (Manitoba Theatre for Young People); Dolphin Talk (Quest Theatre). Nate has directed for All Nations Theatre and THEATREboom, and assistant directed The Cripple of Inishmaan (Theatre Calgary), The Big League and The Secret Life of the Octopus (Quest Theatre). Nate is the Associate Producer of Y-Stage at Vertigo Theatre.
